Abstract: A combination of chance and survey work at Compact Farm uncovered a grain-drier of Iron Age and/or Romano-British date, Iron Age and Roman pottery and a probable Mesolithic site. Medieval field systems, possibly based on previous Celtic fields, were noted in fields south of Worth, and an Iron Age storage pit uncovered at St Aldhelms Head.
