Abstract: |
Relates the rediscovery of two contemporary newspaper reports (from the Malton Messenger) about Greenwell's 1868 excavation of Uncleby barrow 1, Yorkshire Wolds. They provide more detail about his discoveries -- particularly about the Anglian burials -- than he himself was to publish in British Barrows 1877. |
