Abstract: A rock shelter near Corsewall House was associated with a midden containing shells, animal bones and hammer-stones. It is suggested that a butchery mark on one of the bones was made by a metal implement. The cave at Cairnryan contained traces of a hearth along with hammer-stones,charcoal, animal bone and shells. Occupation at Outriemakain Cave is believed to be recent.
