Abstract: A catalogue of several hundred tokens is presented. They were used by congregations to provide entrance to communion. In most respects, the communion tokens of the Free Church of Scotland are very similar to those which were in use contemporaneously in the Church of Scotland. The use of lead-tin alloys was almost invariable. Exceptions include brass, aluminium, and very uncommonly wood. They show little variation in shape and the majority are inscribed.
