Abstract: Pre-cairn activity was identified and light was cast on the structural sequence of the cairn. The validity of the current reconstruction is discussed. There are notes on `The pottery' by Audrey S Henshall (155--60) and `The flaked stone' by Caroline Wickham-Jones (160--71).
