Abstract: Summarises the results of fieldwork undertaken on the south bank and foreshore of the River Thames at Barnes by the Museum of London Archaeology Service in 2003--04. Deposits revealed evidence of the sequence of flooding and silting from the Mesolithic period onwards, along with what appears to have been dredged alluvium redeposited as part of nineteenth-century embankment works.
