Abstract: Article describing the history of attempts to locate the remains of a Roman villa in Wanstead Park, originally indicated by the discovery during landscaping works in the eighteenth century of a large mosaic pavement. An account is given of a GPR survey carried out in early 2007, which showed the presence of a man-made structure to the north of Perch Pond.
