Abstract: A mainly historical account of Vale Royal Abbey in Cheshire, founded in 1277 by Edward I and demolished in the 16th century by Henry VIII. Includes some reference to archaeological findings with regard to the size and layout of the church, the recovery of tiles and window tracery, and the discovery of the location of the 'Nun's grave'.
