Abstract: NZ 104554. Limited rescue excavation in the SE corner produced evidence for four timber phases and three of stone, possibly representing barracks, stores or workshops; the final building sheltered bronze-working. Pottery indicated two occupation phases Flavian to early Hadrianic, followed by abandonment and reoccupation in the mid-Antonine period, when the first stone buildings wcre erected and the defences remodelled. Pottery continues to late 4th-century. Appended reports treat coins, metalwork, glass, samian and coarse wares, and animal bones. Au(adp)
