Abstract: Notes the discovery of a decorated strap-end thought to have been affixed to some form of textile during its career. It is assigned a ninth-century date, based on its Trewhiddle-style decoration. Other examples from the Yorkshires are provided and the evidence for a Yorkshire based workshop for this kind of material discussed.
