Abstract: |
Work has continued in various parts of the city and a new map of Roman and Saxon finds is given. The form of the late Saxon town is better understood. Sites in Westwick, Pottergate, St Benedict's Street, the city north of the river, and Conesford are described historically and archaeologically. Part of the castle bailey ditch was also dug and possible defence lines mapped. Life expectancy and social context of Norwich buildings is discussed; there were almost complete rebuildings about every 150-200 years. |
