Abstract: |
Observation of the trenches revealed a fairly substantial ditch across the site in the medieval period. A projection of its line southwards would have been beneath the west wall of the 14th century Preist's house which was likely to have predated that building, and the single sherd of pottery from its infill dated to the 12th or 13th century. The ditch was presumably a land boundary within the settlement at Muchelney at that time. [Au(adp)] |
