Abstract:
A watching brief was carried out an trenching for a new sewerage system along the main Fourstones to Newbrough road. This road overlies the Stanegate Roman road running from Corbridge to Carlisle. This watching brief provided new information on the Stanegate, gaining more information about its line, width and construction. [AIP]
