Abstract: A geophysical survey was undertaken on two sample areas within a site for which planning permission for a residential development was being sought. In Area 1 strong responses, probably resulting from ridge and furrow ploughing were seen, there were also positive linear responses thought to be part of an enclosure/field system. Three isolated anomalies were also seen adjacent to the ditch type anomalies. Other faint anomalies and modern disturbances were noted, and in Area 2 two were seen, although were heavily "masked" by a gas pipeline. [Au(abr)]
