Abstract: A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken on groundworks associated with the redevelopment of the farm. This involved the renovation of existing farm buildings, construction of a new office block and landscaping. A 13th century east-west aligned ditch previously revealed during the evaluation was observed within the office building's foundation trenches. It was found to be at least 9m in length, with a sub-rounded terminus to the east. It was unclear whether it changed alignment or terminated to the west. No other features dating earlier than the post-medieval period were identified. A number of post-medieval features were recorded, including a brick lined sump, a post hole with an extant wooden post, a brick and soil filled pit, brick lined and flint filled drains. As in the evaluation, no extant subsoil was encountered at any point and the overburden directly overlay the natural clay. This layer contained extensive hardcore deposits, interpreted to be the result of levelling during the post-medieval and modern farmyard activities. [Au(abr)]
