Abstract:
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a housing development. A possible palaeolithic handaxe, an iron age earthwork and a group of cropmarks had been recorded nearby. A medieval moated site also lay in the vicinity. During the evaluation, a ditch was revealed which may have been part of the moat. A possible feeder channel was also identified. It was recommended that a partial excavation should be undertaken. [AIP]
