Abstract: Further parch-marks were recorded at the Castle and the Friary, Priory Park. The ditch around the motte enclosing an area of about 90m in diameter was seen as a parch-mark, it had not been seen before. Others were assumed to be where remains of conventual buildings of the friary had stood. The ground plans could not be reconstructed to identify individual buildings as it was thought probable that the foundations of a succession of buildings on the same spot were visible as parch-marks.
