Abstract: <summary>Trial-trenching and small-scale excavation were undertaken on the line of the enigmatic Nico Ditch prior to development of the site. The results show that the site is almost certainly on the line of the ditch. The ditch has suffered from recurring re-use and re-cutting, possibly destroying its primary fills. In addition, severe 19th century truncation of the site has removed any evidence for a bank or contemporary ground levels related to the ditch. {italon}AIP{italoff}
