Abstract: The watching brief revealed that a great deal of archaeological information may survive intact beneath the lias floor of the west end of the church. The floor revealed with the removal of the the pews and left undisturbed, contained limited evidence of the use of the nave over the last three hundred years. The lias slab floor was considered to belong to the later 18th or early 19th century, though it may have included, particularly in the wastern part of the nave, slabs reused from an earlier floor. Two vaults were also revealed, the first belonging to the Tuson family, used in the earlier 19th century. The second was located in the centre of the south side of the nave, however, its date was unclear, as was its relationship with two grave memorial slabs.[Au(abr)]
