Abstract: Six trenches were excavated to evaluate the archaeological implication of proposed development where earlier geophysical survey had identified a number of anomalies. Although a small Roman town at Adel was located to the south and Iron Age or Romano-British cropmark features lay in the vicinity, no remains of this period were identified. Field drains and the remains of ridge and furrow cultivation were identified in two of the trenches. [Au(adp)]
