Reports excavations carried out between 1980 and 1985. These revealed the original construction of the reredorter as part of the building programme of the abbey, as well as later modifications which converted it into a latrine. Includes separately authored specialist reports on: the window glass (Richard Marks, 20-22); the window lead (Barry Knight, 22-23); the small finds (Quita Mould, 23-25); the fish bones (Alison Locker, 34-35); and architectural fragments (Stuart Harrison, 35-40). The finds are catalogued, and several are illustrated. Reconstruction drawings are included. (PP-B)

Report on excavations in the suburbs of the Roman town. These revealed a series of linear ditches, on either side of a road, with associated pits, considered likely to represent property boundaries. The absence of structural features, lead to the conclusion that the excavated area lay to the rear of any buildings. Several burials were uncovered upon or adjacent to these boundary features. PP-B

Jones, 212-213); and notes on small-scale excavation of an abandoned medieval settlement site and prehistoric enclosure at Luccombe, Ley Hill (Nancy Grace and Isabel Richardson, 208-209). (PP-B)

Uses field survey, documentation, and oral history to analyses the decoy and battery sites on Black Down. Concludes that these three lines of evidence together provide the most effective approach to the interpretation of WW2 remains, noting that the full picture of this site could not have been provided by any one of these alone.
