Archaeological investigations in advance of construction at Parc Bryn Cegin, Llandygai, investigating the wider landscape around a complex of mainly prehistoric remains identified by earlier excavations in the 1960s, identified an Early Neolithic building, several groups of pits containing Later Neolithic pottery, numerous Bronze Age burnt mounds, and round houses ranging in date from possibly Late Bronze Age through to Romano-British.

Brief interim report of fieldwork carried out in 2005, including the survey and evaluation of a walled enclosure bounding the spotted dolerite outcrops at Carn Menyn; environmental sampling to the north and south of the eastern Preseli ridge; extensive walk-over surveys of the Carn Meini area; and an evaluation trench across the inner earthwork of the promontory enclosure at Banc Du. Excavation in advance of development at Tremadog revealed a complex of stone structures which proved to be a Roman T-shaped corn-drier with two associated ovens and other features. Allied with the excavation in 1908 of a Roman structure interpreted as a bath-house nearby, the suggestion is made that a Roman settlement existed in the area of the site.

Report on excavations at the site of the Bishops' Palace in Bangor during 2003 and 2004, focusing on an area to the east of the existing Palace (now used as a Town Hall). Six main phases of activity were identified ranging from features predating construction, through the fifteenth- and sixteenth-century construction of outbuildings and of the east wing in c. 1630; layers and features immediately predating the construction of outbuildings between c.1600 and 1800; and the foundations of the outbuildings themselves and associated floors.

Brief interim report on continuing excavations during 2005 at the multi-period settlement site at Llanmaes, including the discovery of several round-houses believed to be of Middle Bronze Age date and later, a complex sequence of Romano-British deposits and features overlying a prehistoric floor surface, geophysical survey of an apparent cropmark enclosure and possible Early Bronze Age barrow cemetery, and investigation of an Iron Age midden, finds from which included a worked strip of gold.

Report on surveys carried out on the Iron Age hillforts of Castell Grogwynion and Cnwc y Bugail, both in Trawsgoed, Ceredigion. A summary description and plan of each hillfort are given, along with a description of its distinctive features.

Brief report on the main results of continuing excavations in 2005 at the Borth Bog trackway side, Llancynfelin, and investigations into the relationship between the trackway and the extensive industrial deposits uncovered below its southern end the previous year. It is concluded that the tenth- to twelfth-century trackway is later than, and not associated with, the industrial activity, which are Roman or Romano-British in date and indicate lead smelting, although silver may also have been extracted. A furnace, was located along with indications that the industrial activity extended for some distance beyond the excavation area.

Description and discussion, following survey, of a group of previously unrecorded earthwork features at Frondirion, Manod, which it is suggested represent three phases of settlement activity, of prehistoric, medieval and post-medieval date.
