Abstract: |
Catalogue and discussion of twenty-two figurines of boars. Although the boar was certainly highly regarded in Celtic ideology, the lack of associations for these figurines makes it unwise to allot them any Celtic religious significance; in the Roman period they simply became one of many animals chosen for representation. Nineteen Continental examples are also listed. |
