Abstract: |
Although there are no direct parallels, the stamped and rouletted pottery of Eastern England seems to be part of the general pattern of European La Tène decotated pottery. Indeed, it has closer affinities with the Continental eastern La Tène style than with the western. However there are chronological difficulties as all the Continental pottery can be dated generally much earlier than that from both Eastern and Western England, with the exception of the Upper Thames group. Within E England the overriding impression is of geographically separated communities each developing its individual style within the aeneral La Tène framework. Au |
