Abstract: |
A review of the British and Continental evidence finds that the so-called bout-coupé bifaces can be classed as a typological group, but few further claims can be made for them. There is some evidence that they represent a true marker for the Mousterian tradition; their date lies between Late Ipswichian and mid-Devensian. |
