Abstract: |
A single evaluation trench was opened within the car parking area to the rear of Rai Fashions, Bye Street, Ledbury, which lies within the precinct of the medieval St Katherine''s Hospital and is considered likely to contain evidence of associated service buildings. The evaluation has established that the survival of archaeological deposits is good, with a number of well-preserved early post-medieval features and deposts revealed at about 1m below the existing ground level. It appears likely that these overlie intact medieval deposits. |
