Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group during October 2006 in the northern field at Charlton Court, a Grade II listed property on the south slope of the Beult valley. The excavation found a stone foundation for a boundary wall and the remains of a stone-capped drain which had been fed from a property uphill of the site, in an area beyond the limit of excavation. The limited finds suggested a medieval date for the property boundary, which may have been a dry stone wall or similar field boundary. |
