Abstract: |
A level 2 (RCHME) historic building survey was carried out at Laigh Glenmuir Cottage on 8th May 2008, prior to its demolition in advance of open-cast coal mining. The structure was originally a school dating to the later half of the 19th century. It was later converted into a residence. Although the internal layout is largely unaltered, few original internal features remain, with the exception of some paneled doors. The rest of the structure has been largely redecorated with modern materials. |
