Abstract:		 Northamptonshire Archaeology conducted geophysical survey and trial excavation on c 16.5 ha of pasture land at Thrapston, Northamptonshire. Geophysical survey confirmed and further expanded upon evidence for an important Bronze Age ringfort lying within the proposed development site that had been previously located by aerial photography and partially excavated in 1997. Trial excavation on land surrounding the ringfort revealed archaeological features including parts of three possible roundhouses, a human cremation and gravel pits which were widely dispersed over an area to the south-west of the fort.
