Abstract: |
An Archaeological evaluation was undertaken following the historic building recording and subsequent demolition of a 1920's warehouse building that occupied the site. The aim of the evaluation was to assess the impact of the proposed development on any surviving archaeological remains. The evaluation uncovered a stratigraphy of natural chalky clay deposits sealed by a deposit of modern made ground. A modern pit containing concrete, frogged LBC bricks, glass and plastics was found. A high level of truncation was evident across the site. |
