Abstract: |
University of Leicester Archaeological Services were commissioned by Mr D. Dosanjh to undertake an archaeological watching brief during groundworks within numbers 47-51 High Street, Daventry, a Listed Building. A total of three foundation trenches were excavated, one was excavated and concreted prior to archaeological involvement. The other two trenches revealed that the cellar had been in-filled with possibly imported material of no archaeological significance. Two of the trenches uncovered structural evidence of the building indicating the size and shape of the original cellar. |
