Abstract: |
Watching brief undertaken during groundworks associated with new services for a kitchen and toilet block being installed within the church. The groundworks revealed several in-situ burials, some of which were believed to have been medieval due to the lack of grave furniture. The shallow depth of some of the burials was also noted. A section of substantial wall was revealed during the excavation of a drainage trench to the south-west of the church tower, measuring c.1.40m in width. The function of this wall is unclear, no datable artefacts were retrieved. |
