Abstract:		 Archaeological evaluation where new carriageway construction associated with a proposed retail develepment at the hospital has potential to impact upon the Hadirian's Wall corridor. Seven trenches were invesgated. Probable traces of the 18th century Military Road were recorded but no evidence for the Roman frontier was encountered.
