Abstract: |
Monitoring work was carried out in the Great Churchyard, located south of the Cathedral, in Bury St Edmunds. Four trenches were monitored. The site had previously beenused for burials, which were moved in the 1950s. Several post-medieval contexts were recorded, but disarticulated human remains were also recovered. A medieval occupation soil, as well as a lime mortar and flint wall, were also recorded. Medieval and post-medieval rooftile fragments were collected. |
