Abstract: |
Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by North Midland Construction to undertake a watching brief to mitigate the potential loss of archaeological remains during the replacement of a rising mains at Draycott. The Scheme was approximately 6km long and passed largely through arable land on the banks of the River Derwent, south of the A6005 in Derbyshirecremation burials were identified at the eastern end of the Scheme along with a collection of Romano-British pottery at the western end. Further medieval and post-medieval pottery was found along the length of the Scheme. |
