Abstract:
Archaeological survey undertaken of a strip of land between Blue Dial Farm near Allonby to Maryport Golf Course, in advance of the construction of a proposed cycleway along the line of the B5300. This report is concerned with the reassessment of a section which could not be easily viewed in 2011. Few additional features were identified, although earthworks relating to pits of unknown function were noted, adn exposed stonework was also identified, which may be impacted on by the cycleway. A pre-intervention trial trench evaluation may be required to assess these earthworks.
