Abstract: |
Historic building survey of late 19th century bakehouse, last used by Richardsons the bakers (1918-50s) within curtilage of Grade 2 listed shop. Oven manufactured by Alfred Hunt of Leicester, which survives largely unaltered except for the chimney, much reduced. Two stories, with mixing room below storage room, supplied by external hoist (beam survives). Three oven chambers heated by iron rods passing from the rear, where the fire boxes are located. |
