Abstract: |
Herefordshire Primary Care Trust commissioned Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd to conduct a programme of works consisting of the excavation of a series of evaluation trenches on land previously occupied by Dore Ward at Hereford County Hospital, prior to the construction of a new radiotherapy facility (Ref: DMS/112924/F). The groundworks consisted of the excavation of two trial trenches, within the footprint of the proposed development. The areas of excavation were positioned to avoid known services. A series of modern service features was identified within the areas investigated. It was considered that these features did not represent any previously unknown heritage assets that would obstruct the proposed development. |
