Abstract:		 Four evaluation trenches were excavated within the footprint of the proposed building as a pre-determination exercise to assess the archaeological potential of the site. The evaluation identified a number of field boundary ditches and pits. However, due to the lack of temporally diagnostic material the features remain undated. Previous archaeological investigations in the vicinity has identified similar field boundaries dating predominantly to the early Iron Age and it is possible that the ditches recorded during the current evaluation form an extension of this field system.
