Abstract: |
Oxford Prservation Trust commissioned excavations at the summit of the castle motte. Heavy rain caused a landslip in 2007 which led to large scale remedial works in the summer of 2008 allowing access to exposed make-up deposits for archaeological investigation. Masonry remains for the shell keep, civil war defences and later medieval landscaping were recorded. |
