Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	Watching brief undertaken in association with development groundworks. The site lies on the possible line of Cade's Road. Ground reduction and some foundation trench excavations were monitored then, with the agreement of the Durham County Archaeology Section, the work was halted. No archaeological remains of note were observed, with horizontal truncation having previously taken place across the entire development area.
