Describes a programme for the conservation of the eleventh- and thirteenth-century wall paintings, initiated in 1972 and completed in 1994. An important new discovery -- of the early thirteenth-century painting of a saint's head -- was made in 1993. The history and dating of all the church's paintings is also reviewed, including the now vanished eighteenth-century work, formerly in the nave.

A study of the manorial accounts, which illustrate the effects of economic change throughout the fourteenth century. Comparisons with other manors provide evidence for wider regional effects in east Surrey.

The first detailed publication of the copper-alloy head-dress fittings that are currently deposited at Guildford Museum.

Reports on a spearhead found by metal detector in 1993. Further investigation proved negative, but in 1994 tree clearance enabled a further metal-detector survey that recovered a socketed axe, a socketed gouge, fragments of copper `cake', and Roman pendant (see 97/544).

A further report (see also 95/477) discussing copper alloy sceptre fittings and an British-made enamelled axe brooch from the temple site.

Describes two copper-alloy metal-detector finds, respectively from the Hog's Back, near Puttenham, and Priory Park, Reigate (see also 97/441).
