Abstract:		 A detailed topographic survey of the dun at Castle Dounie in Knapdale was undertaken on behalf of the Forestry Commission in June 2011. The survey suggested that the 'straight joint' noted by previous surveyors in the south elevation in fact represnts a second entrance, blocked and coursed over by later reconstruction.
