Abstract: |
Historic building recording at Manor Farm, Piddington, Northamptonshire identified several phases of building. The earliest structures, probably of early 19th century date, include a conjoined threshing barn and dovecote, and a separate stable and animal shelter shed. Garden walls of stone around the complex are probably of the same period, but may have originated as parts of buildings that have since been removed. Another stone building, of uncertain function, was added soon after, probably by the mid 19th century. Brick buildings of mid-late 19th century were then added, for use as stables, loose boxes or other animal houses. A storage shed of breeze block was added in the mid 20th century and there were some late 20th century storage areas and stables. |
