Abstract: |
In January 2014 Archaeological Research Services Ltd. was commissioned by Mark Taberner to undertake an archaeological watching brief Manor Farm, Sheldon, Derbyshire. The monitoring was carried out during ground works relating to the construction of an agricultural building to house livestock, measuring 502m². The development is situated close to a scheduled burial mound, and a medieval boundary bank occurs within 30m of the site of the building. The work had been requested by the Senior Conservation Archaeologist for the Peak District National Park Authority and required an archaeologist to be on site to observe all ground works and to ensure preservation by record of any archaeological deposits discovered. No archaeological features, deposits or small finds were identified within the extent of excavation. |
