Abstract:		 MOLA carried out a programme of historic building recording of Gasholder No.6 at the former Neepsend Gasworks, Neepsend Lane, Sheffield. The recording was carried out in two phases; Phase 1 being a pre-demolition survey of the site, and Phase 2, which was carried out during the dismantling of the gasholder, incorporating areas and elements not visible or accessible during Phase 1. Gasholder 6 was a spiral-guided gasholder built in the early 1950s and comprised a static base-tank and four lift-tanks. The tank was purged of gas prior to the start of the works and was fully dismantled by the end of overall recording.
