Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of a housing development which would possibly have affected an area containing archaeologica remains from the Romano-British and possibly the medieval period. A sequence of modern deposits associated with the former use of the site as a timber yard were observed above natural sediments. An undated layer of buried topsoil and a possible quarry pit were also uncovered. A number of finds were retrieved and included pottery and glass of 19th century date. [Au] |
