Abstract:
57 trial trenches were excavated across the site as part of an archaeological evaluation in advance of determination of planning permission for a golf course. Five sites were previously known, one of the sites was a Bronze Age ring ditch believed to lie to the south of the Sewage Works. The evaluation showed this to be incorrect, no such features were found to exist in that location. The study area contained evidence for at least six farmsteads ranging from the early Iron Age through to the Roman period. [Au(adp)]
