Abstract:
An evaluation was carried out at a site proposed for the construction of bowling facilities. The proposal area lay to the north of The Square and to the east of Swan Street, which were important elements in the topography of the medieval borough of Alvechurch, and it was considered possible that burgage plots running back from the Swan Street frontage could have extended into the site. No archaeological features and no significant artefacts were revealed during the evaluation, and it was concluded that the burgage plots had not extended into the site. [Au(adp)]
