Abstract: An archaeological evaluation was carried out by GUARD Archaeology Limited, on an area proposed for development at East Muirlands Road, Arbroath. The proposed trial trench evaluation was to sample 5% (2860 m²) of the proposed development area available for trenching (5.7 hectares). A total of 29 trenches were excavated across phase 1 of the site, with most averaging 50 m in length. During the evaluation, no features of archaeological sensitivity were uncovered with field drainage, broad rig and furrow and modern plough marks the only features exposed.
